In support of this strategic customer and a vital metropolitan NY service provider Brian Negri, Michael Mayer, Steve Durston, Scott Reichert, Andy Hyer, and Carlos Navarrete along with several invited guests recently attended the Friends of the New York Transit Museum 2019 Gala. This event is held every year to raise funds to support the New York Transit Museum’s exhibitions, programs, and collections. This year’s Gala honored NBC News’ Al Roker, Ed Kranepool and Art Shamsky of the 1969 Miracle Mets. Attended by over 700 guests, the event on October 30th raised more than $1 million.
MTA New York City Transit is the largest public transportation agency in North America and one of the largest in the world. The subway has a daily ridership of more than 5.6 million and an annual ridership in of roughly 1.8 billion. It has a fleet of more than 6,400 subway cars that travel approximately 358 million miles, along 665 miles of track, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There are 472 subway stations. It also has a bus fleet of over 5,700 vehicles making it the largest in North America. Furthermore, NYC Transit was the first public transportation in the world to make its buses 100 percent accessible to customers with disabilities. The average bus ridership is 2.4 million a day, 764 million annually.
